Video description from @stackedhomes
In this week’s episode, a post-war single-storey home in Singapore, built in the 1950s, is carefully extended to accommodate a growing family while retaining its original scale, materials and connection to the ground. Rather than rebuilding, the design preserves elements such as mosaic tiles and metal grilles, reinterpreting them through new brick screens and spaces that connect old and new. A central courtyard brings light, air and greenery into the heart of the home, allowing daily life to unfold around it, where memory, material and landscape come together in a quiet continuation of the house’s past.
